SURPRISE VISIT TO HAWAII

On the 27th October, Steve & I headed over to Hawaii to give Leah a surprise for her birthday, which happens to fall on Halloween. Nathan helped me organize everything and kept a very good secret. We organised with Nathan to be at the Hard Rock Cafe, which is on the corner of the street they do their nightly walk. Leah finally walked around the corner, but did not see us, so Steve said "Excuse me young lady, do you always walk past your Mum & Dad in the street?" Well she just looked and was speechless for about 30 seconds. Then of course she yelled, oh and cried. She could not believe we were there. She said I better not wake up and this is just a dream... We had a fantastic time helping her celebrate her birthday. We are both so glad we could do this for her. I am sure she will remember it for a long time to come

SUNDAY

Today was a beautiful Sunday. Tyler drove Steve & I down to Torquay where we had a bite to eat and of course a coffee. During the afternoon I decided to do a bit of baking, and Leah wanted me to put some photos of it on my blog, so there you go Nellie. I hope you like it.

DAD'S BIRTHDAY

Today is my Dad's 74th Birthday. We had an afternoon tea at our house for him which was nice. Even his brother Geoff popped into see him by chance so that was great. If you know my Dad then you would know that he is such a wonderful person. There are no words that could describe just how much I Love him, and am so lucky that he is my Dad. "I Love You Dad with all my heart". x x

GRAND FINAL DAY 2009

On Thursday of last week Steve and I found out that we were going to our first Grand Final at the MCG ever!! We headed off to Melbourne after work on Friday night and went to the Quest Apartments where we met up with Kate & Chris. We then headed down to Southbank and found a lovely seafood restaurant and had a beautiful dinner with them. We then headed off into Crown and had a little flutter on the pokies.
The next morning was Grand Final day and as we got ready in all our 'Geelong' attire, we then went to the restaurant for our lovely breakfast. After that we had a walk around the city and then headed to the MCG but on my way I stopped off for a photo for Leah...at Lush. We then made our way for what was going to be a magnificant day out at the Grand Final, and what a day it was. This all came about because Jacinta managed to get us some finals tickets from her Dad for us both, and then Jem organized for us to stay in Melbourne and dinner. What a fantastic weekend we had, and we both want to say just how grateful we are. Thanks once again xxxx

Mum's Birthday

Today is the day my Mum celebrated her birthday. The last day of Winter, and as she always told me the windiest month of the year. She would have turned 82 years old today...boy I cannot believe that. Mum was 66 years old when she died (& a young 66 at that) As it has become tradition, my Dad, my sisters & I meet at the cemetry and take flowers
to her. We miss her so much and think of her every single day, not just these special days. Happy Birthday Mum xxxxxxxxxx

TYLER - 'TIZZBOMB"

On August 18th our 6th child Tyler, turned 17. Boy it really does not seem 17 years ago I was in a bit of a dilema as Tyler decided to come in a hurry and was born on our couch in Baytown Close. He hasn't changed a great deal. Always in a hurry to get somewhere or do something. We are very lucky to have him as our son. He is one of the nicest loving and thoughtful child you could get. He is also very very tidy (almost anal one might say) But we love him just the way he is and wouldn't want him any other way. Hope you enjoyed your present Tizzbomb (your Hawaii trip), we enjoyed sharing it with you, and you really did take advantage of everything over there. I don't think there was one thing that you didn't enjoy...oh maybe when the house keepers hadn't cleaned your room in time!. Any way we love you dearly, Mum & Dad xx

P.S. Goodnight Love you Sweet dreams & have a good sleep..

AIDAN TURNS 3

Aidan with his dinasour cake.
On August 8th our beautiful grandson Aidan turned three, and we were lucky enough to help him celebrate as Danni & Jarrod had to come down our way. We went to the Eastern Gardens where we had a lovely lunch at the Beach House. After that we headed to the big playground. The boys had a fantastic time playing on all the equipment and the toy train. Of course we could'nt walk past the Ice cream van without getting an ice cream. Later that night we had a bit of party food back at our place and a birthday cake Danni arranged with dinasours (which are his favourite). Hope you had as much fun as we did Aidan. x x

HAWAII

Well where do I start??? We are just back from an amazing 4 weeks in Hawaii. What a wonderful, fantastic unreal holiday break we had. We were very spoilt & treated like royalty at 'The Westin' where Nathan worked. I am not going to say too much about this holiday as you will probably get bored because I think you just really need to be there to experience it yourself. We had such an awesome time with Leah & Nathan. We swam, snorkelled (with Turtles.. now that is a story in itself..) walked (for miles), shopped till we dropped , had massages, lots of eating fantastic food, met some wonderful people, saw what Nathan did at work and how everybody just idolizes him, saw where Leah worked (and bought lots of Lush products), we hired a car and did some travelling up the coast (even though part of it was very hairy). Oh and went to the most amazing Luau ever. Here are some photos of our trip. Hope you enjoy looking at them as much as we had taking them. Mahalo ... (Thankyou)

Still Missing Steve

This is my husband Stephen. We have been married now for 33 years, and for the past 25 years he has been going away fishing from our home town. He use to fish out of the Barwon Heads harbour and come in and out every day. He never stayed away. Then the fishing changed and a bigger boat was in order and a change of place to fish. Now for this to work he had to go away fishing to Apollo Bay, Wilsons Prom & King Island. The days seemed to become weeks and then months. So much always seemed to happen whilst he was away fishing. He once went with our son Jarrod over to Flinders Island fishing for 17 weeks (way too long) and also I will never forget the early morning phone call I received from him to ask how my mother was. Only for me to tell him that she had just died earlier that morning. All I wanted was to just hug him. Well to his credit he was on the first plane home and in those days the plane from King Island only went to Moorabin. So then it was a taxi to the train station and then another taxi from the Geelong Station to home. (It literally was, "Planes, Trains & Automobiles")
He has had a little time off here and there, but nothing really to talk about, but you know still to this day I really hate him going away. It is not just that I am over fshing, but I really miss him being around. We have really just started to be able to do things by ourselves as our family is growing up. I love his company, and I love him with all my heart. He is a very passionate, caring person, and will do anything or anyone without question. I only wish we could have more time together. Who would think after all these years I would be so use to it by now, but I can guarantee you, I am NOT. I Love you Steve x x
